Kate Webber is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer regarded for delivering well-crafted storytelling paired with elegant imagery.
She has worked all over the world and has a strong breadth of experience creating across genres such as documentary, branded content, editorial, educational, and animation.
Transitioning from a successful career as a still photographer, Kate ventured into motion projects, establishing herself as a film director and producer. Her first film, "Kim Swims," a feature documentary, garnered international acclaim at nineteen film festivals, securing honors like Audience Favorite, Best Director, and Opening Night film. This elegant sports documentary explores universal themes of resilience and nature's gifts, resonating beyond the niche of open water swimming. Acquired for global distribution, the film streamed on Netflix and is now available on Amazon Prime.
During her debut feature film production, Kate co-directed a short film on sustainability, earning high recognition and securing distribution. Subsequently, she has creative produced and directed content for MasterClass and Big Think, which ranks as top-performers and has earned a Gold TELLY award. No matter the subject, her work is imbued with tangible art and heart.
As a fine art photographer, one of Kate's fondest projects is a documentary series of portraits she produced in Iceland (some of this work is included here and here). She continues to be drawn to aspects of people in the natural elements and stories of the human experience that connect us all. Kate's visual work is graced with intentional lines and beautiful color, and her scenes vary between recognizable moments and abstractions.
